Japanese voice support is listed
The game’s Steam language table marks Japanese interface, full audio and subtitles. A PC firsthand review also reports hearing Japanese dialogue in E-Day. This is support for this game, rather than an assumption based on an older Gears release.
Change the game language
- Open Settings → System → Language → Language Select.
- Select Japanese / 日本語 and apply the change.
- Restart the game as the official setting instructions require.
- Enter a campaign section with spoken dialogue and listen to the characters.
A Japanese menu alone does not prove the audio changed. Language Select changes both game audio and text; it is not just the dialogue-volume setting. This workflow follows the official instructions and has not been tested locally by this site.
Subtitle controls are separate
Open Settings → Audio → Language & Subtitles for subtitle display, ambient dialogue, speaker names, size, color and background. Related options are also available in Accessibility’s Text area.
Turning Subtitles on controls whether text appears. It is not the switch that enables or downloads a Japanese voice track.
If the dialogue is still not Japanese
Check the selected Language Select value, restart state and outstanding updates. Record your platform and selected language before following the relevant store’s update or repair process.
Independent combinations such as English voice with Japanese text were not verified on every platform. There is also no verified requirement here to change the Windows or Xbox region or install a separate audio pack.
